New York Gov. and potential 2020 candidate Andrew Cuomo said at a bill signing on Wednesday that America was never that great, taking a shot at President Trumps Make America Great Again slogan. Were not going to Make America Great Again. It was never that great, Cuomo said, according to NBC News. We have not reached greatness. We will reach greatness when every American is fully engaged. He kept going, saying America will reach greatness when discrimination and stereotyping against women, 51 percent of the population, is gone, and every woman's full potential is realized and unleashed. Many condemned the remark, with New York gubernatorial candidate Cynthia Nixon saying the incumbent was trying to figure out what a progressive sounds like and missing by a mile. Cuomos office attempted to clarify, saying Cuomo meant that Trump was ignoring the pain of others and going back in timeby using that slogan. Trump responded on Twitter that Cuomo was having a total meltdown! The president claimed earlier this week during a visit to New York that Cuomo told him he would never run against him for the presidency.
